This is what's left of the Weaver Town Site that is up above Creede in the mining district. While not much of Weaver remains today, several hundred people once lived here. Weaver City sprang up at the base of the richest producing mines of the "Boom" era, the Amethyst and Last Chance. The second building (medal red looking) was a livery which housed some of the animals that worked the mine. It is thought the city was named for the Weaver families that was among the first residents.
