Stone Lagoon School

The little red one room school house opened in 1893 and the last student to graduate was in 1958 when it closed its doors. The school house now sits in front of a red barn that is a general store at the Elk Country RV Resort and Campground off of Highway 101 between Orick and the seaport town of Eureka, Ca. According to locals the grounds are a hangout for the Roosevelt elk in the area.
