Meteor Crater in Arizona was one of those places we had wanted to see for a very long time. Standing along its rim and looking out across this vast, ancient wound in the earth, it was difficult not to imagine the unimaginable moment that created it. Long ago, a fragment from space came rushing through the sky and struck the Arizona desert with unimaginable force, forever changing the landscape beneath it.
