A quiet stillness settles over Caddo Lake State Park in a year when the water receded and the rhythm of the swamp paused. In this evocative scene, a row of vivid red life jackets hangs unused along a weathered boardwalk, their presence both striking and symbolic. They speak of absence—of boats that didn’t launch, of journeys that waited, of a season shaped by drought.

Surrounding them, the cypress trees rise with quiet resilience, draped in soft moss and touched by the muted tones of early fall. The contrast between the vibrant red jackets and the subdued, misty woodland creates a visual tension that draws the viewer in—beauty intertwined with stillness and change.

This piece appeals to collectors who are drawn to environmental storytelling, Southern landscapes, and imagery that captures both mood and meaning. Ideal for those who appreciate fine art that reflects nature’s cycles, resilience, and the subtle narratives hidden within quiet places.
